Isla Parida Panama Fishing Vacations

Panama Sport Fishing Charters

If you’ve ever dreamed of fishing the tropical waters of the Pacific, pack your bags and head to Panama. More specifically, book reservations at Isla Parida Lodge, located in the Gulf of Chiriqui. The Isla Parida Lodge is set among beautiful island foliage and palm trees, and from there, you’ll have nearby access to Hannibal Bank, world famous for its charter fishing.

The Isla Parida Lodge is located on an island, twelve miles off the coast of Boca Chica and David, Panama. The accommodations include three large rooms, each with a set of queen-size bunk beds. The lodge can comfortably house eighteen fishermen. If you care to do some awesome kayak fishing in pristine surroundings, there are six new kayaks available for guests. You’ll also have an expert guide for your kayak adventures.

The Gulf of Chiriqui is near the Continental Shelf, so the deep water is close to land. Inshore fishing venues and offshore fishing spots are so close together that’s it’s easy to do both types of fishing in the same day. Imagine hauling in a tasty Cubera snapper in the morning and a monster marlin that afternoon! And yes, numerous huge marlin have been caught here. Near Hannibal Bank, the marlin often attain weights of over 1,000 pounds.

What can you catch on offshore fishing charters out of Isla Parida? You’ll have excellent opportunities to land some trophy fish, including blue marlin, black marlin, dolphin, wahoo, sailfish, amberjack, grouper, yellowfin tuna, and Almaco jacks.

The inshore fishing is great, too. There are numerous islands, sandy beaches, mangroves, and rocky points that hold some very desirable fish species. You’ll have the chance to hook up with some big Cubera snapper, roosterfish, snook, jack, and trevally. For an even bigger thrill, try battling these brutes on a fly rod.

This is a truly remote, pristine area, with clear blue water and a rugged landscape. Because of the remoteness of the fishing grounds, there’s little fishing pressure. That, of course, makes it all the better for visiting anglers who have discovered this secret hot spot. Before you plan your trip, you might want a little information about the fishing seasons in the area. All the species mentioned are available year round, but each species has a peak season. If you’re after marlin – blue or black – plan your trip for December, January, February, March, or April.

You’ll have the best luck with sailfish in the months of March, April, May, and June. Large schools of yellowfin tuna prowl Hannibal Bank in December, and then again in February through June. Wahoo hit their peak in September, and the action remains hot through November. For the best chances for dolphin, plan your Panama fishing trip for January through April. The grouper, amberjack, Cubera snapper, and roosterfish are readily available the entire year.

Even if you weren’t an angler, this would be an unforgettable vacation. This part of Panama is truly an unspoiled tropical wilderness, complete with rugged cliffs, tiny islets, and green hills. Although as a fishermen, you’re interested in the great fishing, there’s plenty more to entertain and amaze!
